30 second guide to doing your TEFL
Pays for traveling, Fantastic on a CV, Improves confidence and gains friends, Learn new language
2.Ready for the course ! What’s Next?
Choose a TESOL or CELTA course only !! My advice after owning a TEFL Recruitment agency is forget the rest and go for something accredited by the British Council. We have seen a lot of strong teachers with other certificates be turned away because they didn’t do the right course.

Yes, yes, yes and what’s more you’ll be able to choose your country too. If you have a degree and a recongised TEFL cert, then choose your country, and employer will be biting your hand off for your employment. 5. Where Should I Go and What Can I Expect?
Asia is easy and popular. Cambodia, Laos and Taiwan have seen massive growth in this area, and South Korea, Hong Kong and China remain hugely popular.
Latin America: Getting a working Visa can be difficult, but once you’re in you are almost guaranteed to have a happy experience. Brazil and Uruguay are great for teaching prospects and the money can be good, but we wouldn’t rule out Peru either (mainly low-paid orphanage work, but its quality as a travel destination can eclipse this).
South Korea: Great Salaries !
Russia: Since it’s very overlooked by new teachers, the demand for staff in Russia is through the roof and jobs often come with a lot of enticing perks. Make sure your contract is very sound before agreeing to it, though.
The Middle East: Excellent money, tough on living conditions. I have placed numerous people in Saudi Aramco, and once the paperwork has been done the salaries are pretty good. The paperwork is endless though and takes an eternity to get through. Any questions email me directly.

Is Advanced TEFL Certificate from Tefl Express of no use then?
Comment made by admin on Nov 13th 2011 at 7:27 pm:
To be honest I have never heard of TEFL Express ! When I owned the TEFL recruitment agency in order to send teachers out to British Council Accreditated Schools, it was a CELTA or TESOL that we could use. All the other ones we could use. Was a shame as one of mates who is a brilliant teacher/trainer and the best teacher I know of couldnt work out of London. If you want to work abroad it might not matter as much and each school is probably different, but in London, TESOL or CELTA is the one to have. Hope this helps.http://www.job2teach.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php#comments-form

I found your article interesting but I must say I generally find the salary is the wrong benchmark to consider. I think the real question is what, if anything, can a person save or use to travel with, above and beyond daily living needs. If a couple can save one salary that is key info for me. As our package has twenty benefit items listed, salary is but one component and thus only part of the equation. Retirement, travel allowance, medical, etc. are all critical pieces in my mind. In our case, the stated salary of $2004 is just over half of our lowest salary so the info above is a little dated perhaps or maybe it is from some of the other schools in Korea.
